CHOP!
I really thought that it was just my son and his buddies that said "CHOP". I was so wrong.
Yesterday I volunteered to accompany my son's 8th grade class to the beach. We are walking down the halls to his homeroom and like thirty kids are high fiving him and calling out his name. Which is funny cause he always says he has no friends. Anyway, we finally make it to the beach and he eventually ditches me and hangs out with his buddies. I find a nice little corner out of the way and relax for a couple of hours.
Around lunchtime, I seek out a shady spot by a lake on the other side of the parking lot and eat lunch and watch the ducks. (For those familiar with the area - it was Laudermilk Park - where my family + Rachel, once had a photo shoot when we were about 13)
I stopped by the consession stand to buy a soda and I hear the girls behind me talking. Then I hear it. CHOP! A bunch of times. I turn to look at them and they were not even from Ricky's school. They had on t-shirts from the other school that was on a field trip at the same time.
About 1pm I caught up with Ricky and his buddies all talking to some of the teachers. We left shortly after that. It was a good time for all the kids.
I have not felt like cooking all week.
My boss did not pay me for the memorial day holiday. He paid everyone else so I called him about it and he said that because I am part time, I don't get it. He also added that I normally don't work on Mondays anyway.
Thing is though, he never informed me prior to this that I would not be getting holiday pay. So I looked on the calender and I see that I also won't be getting paid for the forth of July but I should get Thanksgiving and Christmas beacuse they are both on Thursdays. But wait there is still the idea that I am only part time. Shucks. (He didn't even use the "company has no money" excuse this time. Guess he didn't want to have to apologize this time.
