I wish my camera worked. My Dad came with Jarrett, Chase and I up to see fireworks on Thursday night. Yes, I know Thursday is the 3rd but they do it every year. It's a shopping center and the ice hockey rink (yes, we have Hockey here in Florida. Ever hear of the FL Everblades?) Any way between the two buildings is a lake where they shoot off the fireworks. They also have live music, water ski shows, and people have family BBQ's and company cookouts at this event.
Chase plugged his ears the whole time. Then when the fireworks started he screamed bloody murder. I took him to the car which was only a hop away from where we set up camp and we stayed there till they were over. He would not even let me in the car with him so I stood outside and watched the show. Each time I turned to check on him he inched himself closer to the window until one time I looked and he smiled and gave me a thumbs up. OMG it was such a mom moment. He found his safe place to witness a great show and was finally happy and enjoying himself.
The next morning we met up with Grandpa again and he could not say enough about the fireworks he saw. He still plugged his ears for the floats with the load music though. And I just had a thought, there were no marching bands in the parade this time...hmmm.

I made some simple chocolate cupcakes yesterday. Except that they are so de-lish and yummy. I hid a cherry inside the cupcake and then on top I put whipped cream and two each of blueberries and raspberries. OMG they are so cute and yummy. And of course they are red, white and blue for the Forth!

Today, Jarrett, Chase and I went to the zoo. We had a great time there as usual. I think the boat ride to see the monkeys was the best part, oh and the two foot fish that where is the lake. We did see a baby water moccasin in the wild. Chase wanted to play on the playgrounds again, and that kinda sucked again. But Jarrett was more than happy to help convince him to see some more animals.

For dinner tonight I made Chicken noodle soup. I love it. I use the bow tie noodles and fresh carrots and celery. Then I cook up the chicken and cube it. I toss in some green peas, corn and chopped onion and spice it up with some salt, pepper, parsley and Italian seasoning to finish it off. I mix it all together and add some chicken broth and Wa-La! A hearty chicken noodle soup that my kids won't eat. Of course they nibble at it but they don't like the celery. Too bad!

My stimulus check has been put to good use. I got my car and license all legal. I got insurance, got my License re-newed, payed two tickets, changed my address, and got my car registered. See my birthday is this month so I had to do most of those things anyway. Now I have a shiny new license with a current picture of me on it. Yay! But that means that the check that the government sent to me was used to give money to the government. Wait, what? The rest of it is going to my landlord for rent so I still have somewhere to sleep!
