CHECK THIS OUT

Seen this on someone else's blog...and just had to post it.
My house is back to normal and I ended up changing the living room around a bit. Now when you walk in you don't see all the Baby's toys. We also cleaned the boys' room and went through a lot of toys. Scout wanted to give his GI Joe guys away so I posted them on freecycle. I had one lady respond so I told her they were hers. Then she told me that she is adopting a two year old and she doesn't have a kid yet. I was kinda pissed. The next taker I had has a six year old. So I went home and divided up the goods into two bags. There was plenty to go around. (six guys and lots of guns!) So the first lady is still getting what she expects, and the second one will get some too.
Funny thing about my posting on freecycle- in the subject line I put OFFER: GI JOE MEN AND ACCESSORIES but then in the body of the email I put: I have a couple of men with lots of accessories... Some lady wrote back saying that she will take two and asked if the accessories included a lawn mower and pick up truck. (she wanted her lawn mowed and her garage cleaned out)lol It was quite funny.
At the bottom of my email I also put a note to my mom that she didn't need these and reminded her that the reason I told her about the site was so that she could get rid of her stuff not get more stuff! Sure enough I got comments about that for other people in the group.
When I posted that the item were pending pick up I put in the subject line PENDING PICK-UP: MEN WITH ACCESSORIES I MEAN GI JOE MEN OF COURSE. It was cute I thought.
Well another weekend is upon us and I have no certain plans. I'm getting exited about Cub scouts starting back up. There is a meeting on monday that I need to go to.

Niagra Falls...

So Scout calls me at work at 11:30am on Monday and says the toilet overflowed and there is water on the floor. He knew enough to turn the valve off but he must have turned it the wrong way or something and so I told him I would be right there. I get home and there is an inch of water in the bathroom, half of the living room is sopping wet and my bedroom too. I get Scout to come with me to rent a shampooer and I start using it on the carpets. When I thought it was good enough till I got home I left and told the boys I was going to tell the manager to come by and look at the toilet to see what the problem was. Well I get back to work and the Manager calls me and says I have a Big problem. She calls some carpet cleaning people and they set up fans and a dehumidifier. Thing is they had to move all the furniture out of my room and half of the livingroom furniture. There are three fans in the house and they blow under the carpet making a big bubble in the middle of the three rooms. guess how long this takes. Yep, three days. There is nowhere to sit and they smooshed the changing table behind a bed in the boys room. I have to sleep in their room and the Baby has to sleep in the kitchen. He also can't crawl around the house at all. There is about a two foot square space in the boys room that he can go in otherwise he has to go in the playpen. He was a little upset to say the least. I ended up taking him for a walk around the block and he really enjoyed that. Meanwhile I have this shampooer that cost me 40 bucks to rent and so I call up bath and ask her if she wants to borrow it. She of course does and comes to pick it up. Her daughter drops it back off later that night. Scout clears a spot on the couch and watches a little tv and Ferret falls asleep in hi bed. Ahh, the peaceful sound of THREE HUGE FANS BLOWING ALL NIGHT LONG. I think I can actually hear myself think this morning.

My b-day parties...

Friday night when I got home from work the boys had cleaned the entire house and made me cards and pictures. They had hung a banner sized sign that said "HAPPY B DAY". They even gave me a handwritten certificate that intitles me to a free foot and back massage from them and the seven bucks that their Grandma gave them for helping her out around her house! Wow I was really impressed! I guess the only bad news of the day was that my Mom was not going to watch the Baby that night so I couldn't go out but she said maybe on Saturday night.
We ended up going over to Beth's house and hanging out there. Jose was there and after dinner I found out that he had bought me a Carvel Ice Cream Cake! He had to go home before we had it though and even ended up going to Miami till Sunday night. Beth saved him a piece though. We watched a movie and ended up falling asleep on the couch.
On Saturday I got a call from my brother Brad in Kentucky. My other brother Chris and his family (who reside in North Carolina) were visiting Brad and his family for the weekend. They informed me that they were having cake for my birthday and wanted to know when I could come over! I wish that I could have been there. Later the boys and I went to the pool. After we got home Beth called and asked if we were going out or not. I called mom and she said that they would come by and pick up the Baby. So I was finally out of the house at 9:30pm. I get to Beth's house and we were getting ready to leave when Scout calls me and says that their Dad was there and he wanted to talk to me. I'm like WHAT! Short story is that he made the boys lie and tried to get me to go home. but it didn't work.
Beth and I hit 5th avenue. First we went to McCabe's an irish bar. Then we went to Yabba's a hip hop dance club where we could not dance anywhere without bumping into at least three people on all sides of you. Fun but very crowded. I got a drink spilled all over my leg, Yuk! Next we went to The Spot. It's a little country bar and I actually found someone I know there. A guy that used to work with me named Sean. I said Hi and he gave me a hug and told me Happy Birthday. I miss talking to him! So I go back to where Beth is sitting and all of a sudden this english guy comes over and starts talking to Beth. He ends up buying us drinks and asking her out for lunch on Sunday. I also had another guy that I work with come up to me, Facundo is his name. I asked Beth to play pool with me and she asked English to play. I started out pretty bad and he was missing shots on purpose. Then I only had one ball left and he had just the 8 ball. He lines up his shot and gets it in, and right after the 8 ball the q ball follows it, scratch! He lost and I won! Hey maybe Rachel is rubbing off on me!!! (Rachel is my friend in Little Rock that has recently told me that she is the top female in her league.) We left at closing time and the boys were just fine.
On Sunday We hung out at the house. Went to the pool and then over to my Moms for cake. My brother Kevin, his wife and one of their boys were there along with my Mom, Dad and Grandma.
All in all I had a great B-day. I think the best part was that the boys thought of me when they really didn't have to and they did it all on their own.
Beth still has not gotten her window fixed yet and the English guy couldn't call her on Sunday cause her phone is broken and it turns off all the time. Oh well, Ta ta for now.

It's all aboutME!

Happy birthday to me!
Happy birthday to me!
Happy birthday toooo meeeee!
Happy birthday to me!

Yep! It's my 31st Birthday and it's all about me.

Not really but it feels good to say it some times.

I have a funny story...
So this guy I work with wants me to go to dinner with him. I have declined and declined and he still asks me to go. He's about 15 years my senior and of cuban decent. Not really what I am into. Anyway while this is all happening my friend Beth has a broken window from her kids messing around with a baseball bat. I go to her house and we get the glass out and I measure the window. I go to work the next day and ask Jose to cut the glass for me. Then I ask him if he could install it as well since Beth lives close to him. All the while I am full aware of the fact that Beth likes spanish men and she is also on the market. Jose goes over there to install the window and I had mistakenly measured wrong. So he is going to go over there again tonight.
Funny thing is that Jose finished working on the window at about six pm and I left at 9:30 and he was still there talking to Beth and watching a movie. Maybe they will have a conection?
I had told Beth the other day that I wanted to go out for my birthday. And when we were talking about it last night she asked Jose to go with us. Now I know that he has to go over to Beth's house to fix the window and maybe he will go out with us. Anyway it should prove interesting on where this all goes. I hope Beth finds a good guy and I think I have finally realised that I and not ready to date yet. I still can not see myself with anyone for the time being. I hope I get over this feeling before my hair turns blue!!

Blow out!

Have you seen this show? I love it! Any guy that can cry at the drop of a dime is just so... wonderful! I have never seen such emotion in someone. You can just tell that this guy is so committed to his work and his life. It just makes me want to cry with him!
Of course if you havn't seen the show you are missing something. It's about a guy who has a couple of hair salons and he just put out a new line of hair care products. He acctually cried when someone told him they liked the products! Anyway he got a spot on QVC and even I was so nervous for him.

Not too much else going on here. Unless you think my 31st birthday is important!
Yep, it's tomorrow. I don't have any plans yet but Scout has already told me I'm not going out with my friend Beth. I don't know why he says that but that's what he said last night. I guess we will have to see what happens. It would be the first time I have been out in a long long time. I don't have my hopes up though.

Things not to forget when going camping

We went camping at the Peace River Campgrounds and faired pretty good when it came to supplies...but I should have double checked our list, we forgot the
1. paper towels
2. dish soap
3. shampoo
4. conditioner
5. nail clippers
6. working umbrella
7. directions on fire making
8. two more camp chairs
I'll stop there because that would have made our campout tollerable. We could have also used air beds but we would have needed another tent for them to fit!

here's some highlights as well:
1. Baby + marshmellow = huge sticky mess!
2. Its a long walk to the Racoon Resturant unless you have a stroller to carry the load.
3. "I want to see the goat, stop so I can see the horsey. oh, look a pig"
4. Scout thinks that Carlos' sister Amy likes him!
5. Squirls can carry a huge apple to the tops of trees.
6. "Don't shoot the squirls"!
7. "My balls are stuck (in the billard game)"
8. The boys and I "dreaming" on the front porch of the store and telling what each of us would want if we had the money-They both want 4-wheelers and I want a husband.

We did it!

We left on Friday night to go camping. On the way up we stopped to get gas around Punta Gorda. I came out of the gas station and looked up to see if I had time to put the power stearing fluid in the car before it rained and there it was. A funnel cloud! I have not seen one since I was in high school. I was yelling at Scout to look and he said he seen it so I told him to get the camera. It was awsome, about a 1/4 mile away and really thin. But by the time I was done with the Power stearing fluid it was getting bigger. So we went on our way. There were people stopped on I-75 and everyone was out of their cars taking pictures.

When we got to camp we seen Scouts friend Carlos and his family in the office. We rented a spot next to them and started to set up. Scout got our tent up in no time and I was fighting with the dining fly. After a little bit Scout helped his Carlos' family get their tent up and then we sat back and relaxed for a few min. I put the Baby to bed and finished getting our site together. That night Carlos' family was up till about three in the morning and we didn't get to sleep at all. They are cuban and are generally a loud group!

The next morning Scout cooked scrambled eggs and we also had o.j. and bagels. The boys shot a bb gun that Carlos brought and then we were tring to decide to go to the pool or rent a golf cart. We ended up renting a golf cart and after I paid for it I had a quarter left over so I dropped it into a game for a chance to win a free hour on the golf cart. You know the thing where you drop the coin through water to land on a spot. Well guess what? I won it landed on the red spot and stayed on. I looked at the girl and said "I did it". I ran and told the boys they were really exited. We puttered around there for a bit then got on our carts and drove around. There was not that far to go since the rains has blocked up most of the pathways but they did have this one ramp for the dumpster that was pretty fun. The dumpster was called Racoon Resturant. It said "all you can eat" and "bring the whole family" and Eat for free help yourself" Really cute. After the hour on the cart the boys were pretty much wore out so we got our money back for the second hour and got some toys for the pool and snowcones.
When it was time to start dinner we set up the coals in the pit and had a hard time getting them lit. Scout was cooking Turkey for us. He was never really satisfied with his fire and was really pissed when Carlos' family had a big fire going. He had to take some time out and he sat in the car for a bit. But it was not long before he was back in the game. We had Turkey, corn on the cob and beans and rice for dinner. I think Scout decided that it wasn't such a good idea to go camping with friends that had more money than us. Even though I told him that we came here because Carlos was our friend and not because he had money. He was feeling a little jelous of him cause Carlos' family had air mattreses and fans and four adults and three kids. and we only had one adult and three kids, well really only two kids and a baby that needed lots of holding...We did do marshmellows, but of couse Carlos' family had to one up us again and get the powder that turns the flames different colors.
We went to bed about nine-thirty that night and actually got some sleep that night. The next morning we got up and started packing to go home. I didn't want to be unpacking at five o'clock at night when I was already exhausted from the heat. We left about 9:30 and learned that Carlos' family was staying for the rest of the day.
We got home unpacked the car and went to sleep. I got a call from my dad and they had locked the keys in the car so I had to go to their howse get the key and bring it to them. on the way to bring it to then I stopped back to get Scout and his friend Timmy was there so Scout went to Timmys house and I gave the key to dad. Then I went with Ferret and the Baby to Sam's Club to meet my brother there. He was treating us to some groceries. Yay! After that I went by Timmy's house and the boys ended up staying the night there. So it was just the baby and I for the night. I unloaded the car again and finished putting the camping gear away and started laundry. I got the house all back to normal.
I love camping, but next time we will do it either more north of Florida or only camp in the winter. It was too damn HOT!!!

Highlights of the week...

I was going to do a highlight but I could not think of too many. So instead I will tell you how our plans got a little changed around for this weekend by simply going to Wal-mart.

I was planning on doing a one nighter campout with just the boys and I about 45 min. drive away. We got our list together and we set off for the local super wal-mart. After about 10 min Scout, (my oldest) finds his friend Carlos in one of the isles. Carlos informs us that they are going camping and he wanted to know if Scout could join them. I told him that we are also going camping and maybe next time he could go. Then Scout insists that we find out where they are going and go there. So it turns out that they are going about two hours away and it's a camp that I really enjoyed as a kid. I told him we will see and we went on our merry way.

When we got home Scout asked if he could go over to Carlos' to get directions and find out when they would be going. He came back with a web-site and address.

So I guess we are going a little further away which means that the one nighter has turned into two. I'm a little concerned that we won't have enough room for all the stuff we need to bring. Here's our list so far: tent, dining fly, cooking stove, tarps (2), food and drinks for 2 breakfasts, two dinners and a lunch, pots, pans, silverware, plates, cups, utencils, charchol, lighter fluid, marshmellows, hershey chocholate and graham crackers, lanturn, flashlights, first aid kit, bug spray, suntan lotion, play pen for the baby, walker for the baby, clothes, diapers and wipes, bottles, bags and formula, two bikes, blankets, sleeping bags and pillows

Now all of that needs to fit into my car plus a car seat two kids and a driver!

Should be fun!

My Baby...

Wednesday, July 13, 2005

So the internet was down and

I had been without it for two days. I called the my geek Paul and he did not show up till 4pm on Monday. Turned out I needed a new router and he came at 2:30pm on Tuesday to put it in.

Here's the reason I decided to post about this...On Monday he had left his pen here so on Tuesday I seen that he got his pen back and we got to talking about pens. He said he loves collecting pens and he showed me one of his prized pens. I looked at the pen and said "hey I know these people!" Turns out he does the geek work at my ex-sister-in-laws job. Small world I guess.

My mom e-mailed me the other day and she informed me that she now has a blog. I go to look at it and she picked the same layout as I did. I hate that. I mean for the past 10 years I have been trying to get out from being like her and she goes and tries to be like me. I am also a little upset that she got her blog to post pics and I just can't figure it out. This thing always tells me I have a error so I give up.

I have chatted with another silly boy from yahoo personals last week and I e-mailed him my pic on saturday. He has an odd sense of humor if thats what you want to call it. He said it looked like I hit a truck. Now, I din't think that that was a complement. He then goes on to say that I'm not ugly or something to that fact and I just said "thanks". I really had to get off the computer at that time though because my brother was looking over my shoulder and I was extreamly embarassed. Anyway, I don't think there is any real future with the silly boy due to the fact that he lives about an hour away. Lucky for me!

Well we have planned yet again to go on a family campout! YAY! I'm sure that we will get rained out again though. By the way the Hurricane was nugatory. (Its a real word meaning unimportant). But with all the rain we have had the "Moskeetos" will have a hayday on us at the campout. I guess if the weather is ok we will just have to chance it.

Still noone has read this blog yet, maybe I'll clean it up and pass it on to Mom!

Great Weekend

On Saturday the Boys and I went on a Letterbox hunt. I found out about it online. We followed the directions and found all three boxes. We have not made a stamp yet since it was our first atempt so we used our fingerprints and the baby did his footprint. Cute right? It was very HOT! We forgot to bring our drinks with us and it turned out to be a three mile hike in the sun on and next to the beach. I had to pee something fierce! But we made it back all in one piece! I was carrying the baby the whole way.
Saturday night we went to my brothers house for a cookout and then off to see the fireworks in Estero. It was the baby's first time and he loved them. In all there was there was fourteen of us. Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister-in-law, one niece, five nefews, three sons and me. We had a great time but I had a banging headache and by the time we got back to my brothers house I couldn't see straight. So we ended up staying there overnight.
Sunday morning we went home and just hung out.
On Monday, The Fourth Of July, We went to the parade downtown and again met up with my brothers family. This time he only had three of his seven kids. It was HOT! Then we went to eat at taco bell. We all went home after that only to meet up a couple hours later to see another display of fireworks. When I got there the kids uncle (on their dads side) came up to them and was talking to them. He asked me if he could take the baby and the boys to see their dad. I said ok and they walked over. I waited about 20 min. then I told their dad I was going to sit down and he gave the baby back. He asked if the older boys wanted to go see his mom and then they went to see her. He then came back with her so she could see the baby. Then he asked if the boys could watch the fireworks with him and they did. When it was all over he walked with us out of the park and to the car. Good thing that I parked next to my brother otherwise I'm sure he would have never left. Other than that everything was great. The boys enjoyed seeing their dad. Maybe it was because he bought them a drink and an icecream!
Oh how I love short work weeks.
