School

Ok, so School started on Monday and my boys are still sitting at home playing on the computer. Yeah, I messed up a bit with the school thing this year.
I had called down to the administrative office the end of last school year and they told me that because scout had gone to school A for two years and was an eighth grader that he could continue going to school A this year even though we are zoned for school B. Now Feret would be a hardship case, meaning that he would go to school A only becaus Scout went to school A.
However when I sent them to School A on Monday they called me at 10:30am and said they needed to go to school B or go down to the administration office and enroll them in either school C or D. So Tuesday comes and goes because my boss is visiting with his grandkids who are only here for a bit and I can't get out of the office. So now it's Wednesday and I load the kids up and we come to my work and then we have to wait here for and hour then we head out for the admin office. We get there and ask for the person that school A told us to and we wait...and wait...and wait...45 minutes we wait. Finally someone comes down from that office and starts asking me why I'm there...turns out I was given the wrong name and waited for monthing. They sent me to student services and then it gets worse. Scout can go to school A, but not Feret. School B is a Title 1 school and thats why we don't want that one. Scoool C is overcrowded so that leaves school D. Fine, boys choose either A or B or D. Wait a minute not B remember. So choose A for only Scout and D for both. Finally Scout says "I don't care. It doesn't matter fine D" and he storms out of the room. Feret follows him and I'm left to tell the nice lady that they choose D.
Then she tells me that I have to go to the school to registar and its an hour away. I literally live on the opposite side of the town. We go and the boys like the idea of no uniforms. So I get back to work pretty late (almost 1pm) after dropping the boys off at home.
Hopefully they will catch a bus tomorrow with no problems.

Tat

If I were to get a tattoo, this would be it. I showed a black and white version to Scout and Feret and they said it was too goth. I may do the dress in the same blue as the bow. What do you think?

I asked for it! I really did. And now I don't think I'm going to get the help I need to do it.
A couple of weeks ago I got a call from the BSA council people saying that I was invited to the kick-off dinner. I am a committee member for the Troop but why were they inviting me? Then I had the thought that they still had my name down for the Pack. So I e-mailed the (then) committee chair, Jim and the COR Paul and expressed that I could if they wanted me to, run the sign-up night and the parent orientation for the Cub Scouts. So I go to the trainng and the Dinner (Carrabba's, yum) and now I am trying to get ahold of the scouts and parents from this past year to help me out. I have not heard from any of them yet. Furthermore, when I requested a roster from Council they can't send me one for the cubs because I'm not listed on the roster as a member of the Pack, just the Troop. I requested it from Jim and Mel the DE but have not gotten it yet. When I asked the Wolf leader from this past year if they were still doing scouts he said "I think so" anyhoo...I will just do as much as I can and hope for the best. I have already asked Deeann to help me out even though she is not part of the Pack either.Oh and Jim also asked if I was interested in being the Cubmaster.

On a side note, at the dinner Jim and Paul told me that the Scoutmaster, Stan had been given "a letter" and won't be with us this coming year. Jim will be taking over as Scoutmaster and Deeann will still be the Asst. Scoutmaster. Paul will take over Jim's place as Committee Chair and the rest stays the same. We have three boys that are working on Eagle and three working towards Life. A couple of first and second class scouts and the rest are all tenderfoot. (tenderfeet? lol) We have a nice rounded out Troop.

...now if I can just get the Pack to follow suit...

Happy Happy Happy

It's the twins Birthday already. The girls, Lily and Em who turn one today, belong to my long time friend Rachel, that lives in Little Rock.

On that note, I was e-mailing her to wish them a happy b-day and such and thinking about what else to write... when it dawned on me that school is starting and my son will be in the 8th grade. Point being is that Rachel and I met in the 8th grade...20 years ago...OMG!

I love you Rachel!
