HAPPY 100TH POST

This is my 100th post, boys and girls! I know it seems as though it was only yesterday that I started this pathetic little journal. But lo and behold I tell no lies. So I will grace this post with the very thing I started it with. Complete and utter, absolute nonsence that will mean nothing to you as a person! Glad I can help, now onward with the stupidness...

I went camping this weekend as I warned you I would. We did have one boy who cancelled but there were five others that had a blast of a weekend. We set up camp at Caloosahatchee Regional Park on Saturday morning. We were catererd by the Boy Scout troop. They cooked us hambergers and mac and cheese for lunch on Saturday after we set up our tents. They got there on Friday night. After lunch we did a three (yes I said three) mile hike on some wonderful trails. After the hike the boys did some fire building and then the acting Scoutmaster, Jim, had them help with preparing dinner. They cut vegtables and even made a cake in a dutch over. Peach Cobbler. The rest of the day was really fun, the boys played football and capture the ball. (we used to call it smear the queer but changed the name) There was another Cub Scout pack camping next to us and all of those boys found their way to our campsite to play ball too. Must have been a good 25 kids playing. We had dinner which was I guess a roast beef stew that cooked all day, yum! After dinner we had a campfire. We had a contest between the four Boy Scouts and the five Cub Scouts to see who could come up with the best skit. The cub Scouts went first. Then the Boy Scouts. The adults voted and decided that the Cub Scouts won, yeah! Then to our surprise they wanted to do another skit. So we let them and then the B S did another. After that, the C S did at least five more skits on their own. They even had special effects with lighting (they used a flashlight and said it was a meteor). This all lasted till about 9 o'clock and then they started hunting for wood for the fire. We ended up having a bonfire (really big) and at 9:30 they were told to settle down and lights out was at 10pm.
Sleeping was good and when we got up the cubs cracked the eggs and we had scrambled eggs and biskits for breakfast. Then we packed up our tents and started for home. All in all I think that it was one of the better campouts we've been on. All the kids were well behaved and the mosquitoes weren't too bad. The boys earned their Outdoorsman Badges and none of my cubs got hurt. (one of the boy scouts kept falling over everything and he got something in his eye but nothing serious)

Ok I think I rambled on enough about camping. I do want to mention that Rick is out of jail. I had hoped it wasn't true but it is. His step-dad called me to inform me about it. He also mentioned that Rick wanted to know if I would take the child support enforcement off him. So that he could pay me directly he says. As if! He must be crazy, as a matter of fact I think I will call child support to let them know he's out. Bye!

I think I'm ready for Camping

Scout is leaving tonight and Feret and I are leaving tomorrow. The older scouts are cooking for the younger scouts so we don't have to bring any food. Yeah! It takes up soooooo much room. I have all the bags packed. Baby will stay with Grandma for the weekend. I'm sure he will be 5 lbs heavier when I pick him up on Sunday. She thinks he's always hungry, but it's only because we go over there at dinner time!

I've been reading some other blogs and I seem to have missed something when I started mine. Most of the ones I read all talk about politics, religion or computer jabber. I don't have any of those things on my blog. I could start to I guess.

Nah! I would get bored. I do have opinions and if you asked me about a topic I could give them to you but I really have no desire to share all of my insite on this blog. Jeez, even thinking about this has me bored.

I can't wait to get into the tent tomorrow night and wait hours to fall asleep! I really can't wait to taste the food that the boys cook! I'll let all of you know when I get back and post my 100th entry on this blog!

Just got a call from my Mom, she just informed me that the kids Dad is getting out of jail on Monday. I'm not looking forward to that at all.

Ta ta for now...

Lots of things coming up...

in Scouting anyway. This month we are going camping, and we have the Blue and Gold Dinner.
Camping is going to be great. All but one in my den are going. We are going with the Boy Scout Troop so the boys will learn alot and see how the big kids camp without mommies. I love camping.
The Blue & Gold Dinner is our major awards dinner. We do give out awards throughout the year but this is where the 5th graders corss over to the Troop and the main badges are awarded like Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos. My six boys are earning their Webelos badge then we will begin working on the Arrow of Light. I am finishing off a plaque for our one 5th grader who is crossing over. I am making him an arrow out of a dowel and I have already tied on the feathers and painted on his stripes. I have the wood all stained and all I need to do is attach the arrowhead and then put it all together. I put stripes (bands actually) for each rank he had earned and they are all a different color. It looks pretty cool. Our theme this year is Cubs of the Future. My den usually do the centerpieces for the dinner tables. I'm having a hard time coming up with something that looks good. I made a robot out of tin foil and I'm told it does look like a robot but I think it's too big. When I'm done with this post I am going to do a google search. Hopefully I can find something.

Other than that I'm doing just fine.

New Years Resolutions

I hate them, so this year I have not even thought about making one. Well I thought enough about it to write this post but thats it, really. I think that they are there to only break within weeks and possibly days of making them. Why waste my time?

I could have said that I want to exercise more or go to church more. I could have said that I want to be a better mother and role model for my Scouts. I could have said that I want to quit smoking even.

All of those things are things that I need to do. All of those things are things that I already should be doing! All of those things are things that I would be doing if it wasn't already stamped into my brain that it is ok to do the things I do the way I do them now!

So I think that I am just fine with the fact that I do not have to write down or make known my resolutions to make them. I am happy with the way I do things right now. I know I could do better but right now I am happy with who I am with my kids, God, my scouts, myself.

Who in the hell am I kidding? I need help! Where do I start? ...

Ta ta for now...
